Cookie Policy
How BizWithAfrica uses cookies and similar technologies to run the U.S.–Africa trade platform, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 2026-04-19
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Similar technologies such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixels work the same way. We use the term “cookies” throughout this policy to cover all of them.
2. Cookies we use
BizWithAfrica uses only the cookies required to operate the platform securely and to remember your preferences. We do not sell, trade, or share cookie data with third-party advertisers.
- Strictly necessary — session identifier, CSRF token, and OneTimeLogin SSO state. These are required for authentication and to keep the site secure. They cannot be disabled.
- Functional — your theme choice (light/dark) and dashboard layout preferences. Stored in localStorage.
- Analytics (first-party, aggregated) — page-view counts and platform usage metrics. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
3. Retention
Session cookies end when you close your browser. Preference cookies persist until you clear them. Analytics data is rolled up and detail records are purged after 12 months.
4. Your choices
You can clear cookies and site data at any time through your browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent login and some platform features from working.
For users in the EU/UK (GDPR/UK GDPR), South Africa (POPIA), Ghana (DPA 2012), Kenya (DPA 2019), and California (CCPA/CPRA), additional rights over personal data apply. See our Privacy Policy for how to exercise them.
5. Cross-border transfers
Cookies supporting authentication may be processed on infrastructure in the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. See our Privacy Policy for the safeguards we apply to cross-border data flows across the trade corridors we operate in.
6. Changes to this policy
We will post any material changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
